Humility Month 2021 – 30 Days of Verses

I assembled some verses on the theme of humility because it’s helpful for me to have a guide to stay on track for the month. I highly recommend reading more of the context (what are the verses above and below, what’s the chapter about, what’s the book about?) and then seeing what sticks with you as you pray throughout a given day.

Day 1 Eph 4:2 – Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

Day 2 Phil 2:3 – Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

Day 3 Prov 11:2 – When pride comes, then comes disgrace,but with humility comes wisdom.

Day 4 Romans 12:16 – Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

Day 5 James 4:10 – Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Day 6 Ps 8:4 – What is mankind that you are mindful of them,human beings that you care for them?

Day 7 Colossians 3:12 – Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Day 8 Prov 29:23 – Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

Day 9 Prov 22:4 – Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.

Day 10 1 Peter 5:6 – Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

Day 11 2 Chron 7:14 – If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Day 12 Matthew 11:29-30 – Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

Day 13 James 3:13–Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.

Day 14 Proverbs 18:12 – Before a downfall the heart is haughty, but humility comes before honor.

Day 15 Mark 9:35 – Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all.”

Day 16 1 Peter 3:8 – Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

Day 17 1 Cor 1:28-29 – God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

Day 18 Micah 6:8 – He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Day 19 Matt 6:2 – So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Day 20 Prov 15:33 – Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the Lord, and humility comes before honor.

Day 21 Ps 25:8-9 – Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way.

Day 22 Luke 9:48 – Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”

Day 23 Gal 5:13 – You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

Day 24 Phil 4:20 – To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Day 25 John 3:30 – He must become greater; I must become less.

Day 26 Ps 149:4 – For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

Day 27 Rom 14:11- For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.Mark 10:45

Day 28 Ps 115:1 – Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory,because of your love and faithfulness.

Day 29 Romans 14:11 – It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord,‘ every knee will bow before me;every tongue will acknowledge God.’

Day 30 1 Sam 2:7 – The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.
